Andrew Russell, joint managing director for the developer of the new 1.5m sq ft HPARK industrial development, came to Cannes in partnership with Rochdale Development Agency to promote the scheme and the region.
That mission has been accomplished, he said.
“The response to HPARK has been great,” he told Place North West on the final day of the international event.

He went on to describe how operators are showing there is a clear appetite for industrial developments that offer a variety of sizes and have strong sustainability goals. In HPARK’s case, it’s aiming to reach a BREEAM rating of Excellent and to achieve EPC A through a high technical specification including solar panels. HPARK is accomplishing this by including air source heat pumps, solar panels, and EV charging points as standard throughout the scheme.
The location of HPARK helps too, with Russell pointing out that is less than 10 miles away from Manchester city centre, with easy access to three motorways.
Russell also spoke about the work the company is doing with Rochdale Development Agency and how important RDA’s assistance in site promotion has been, as part of a long-term, joined up vision for the economic regeneration of the area.
MIPIM has been about more than just promoting HPARK though. Russell also wanted to strengthen ties with other companies, grow connections, and look for partnerships.
All in all, it has been a good trip to the French Riviera. As he put it: “What’s not to like in the South of France?”
